Animal Cruelty
Welcome!

A common misconception is that animals, because they cannot speak or do complex mathematics, do not have the ability to feel, the ability to suffer. Animals suffer pain the same way that humans do (don't forget that we are animals too!).

Animal Testing

Every day, thousands of animals around the word are being abused and tested on for your makeup, your shampoo, even some of your food. Thousands of companies around the word still use animals for testing even though hundreds of renowned scientists had declared animal testing as ineffective. Today, the best testing techniques include human cells, often known as the in vitro technique. This technique is not only safer for animals, it is also often faster and less expensive.

Puppy Mills

A puppy mill is where multiple dogs are kept for their entire lives in order to breed repeatedly. Often these dogs are kept in horrible and cramped conditions. Female dogs often are forced to start breeding at around 11 months old. These puppies are often sold to puppy stores around the country where the dogs continue to be kept in unfair conditions until they are purchased.

Poaching

Poachers around the world are constantly hunting and killing animals for their 'valuable resources', such as ivory or pelts. Animals such as rhinos, lions, and elephants are at perpetual risk, and because of this these animals are severely endangered. The number of these animals has been drastically decreasing because of not only poachers, but also game hunters who hunt these animals for sport. Around 30,000 animals are driven to extinction every year.

About the Author

My name is Leila Troxell and I love animals. As a little girl I was obsessed with every type of pet, from rabbits to hamsters to dogs to cats to birds. I wanted every animal as a pet, especially a lion (even though it probably would've eaten me). As I got older, at every opportunity I would research animals around the world, their habits, living conditions, and diets. In this research I found more and more horrifying facts about the mistreatment and abuse of every type of animal in every continent. This created a desire in me to help these animals that I have been obsessed with for so long. This website is an attempt to infuse that same fire in everyone else.
